The event honored this year’s award winners alongside their presenters and brought together ambassadors, alumni, staff and volunteers. Founded in 1976 (formerly The Prince’s Trust), the charity has supported about a million young people across the U.K., and in recent years three in four of those helped have moved into work, education or training.
The Royal Albert Hall gathering is one of several anniversary moments: a Buckingham Palace garden party is planned for May 14, and the trust was recently spotlighted during the King and Queen’s U.S. visit at an arts reception in New York. The King reflected on the pride of reaching 50 years, recalling the early challenges of launching the trust and his hopes for its future.
