Hard recovery and new normal

Beau faced a difficult recovery, including a period of severe psychosis where he saw everything as overwhelmingly positive and later endured bullying at school. Sigler calls him a fighter and a hero, credits therapy with helping her son and family, and says the ordeal taught her to advocate fiercely for his care.

Family details

Sigler and husband Cutter Dykstra, married in 2016, are also parents to Jack (born January 2018); Beau was born in August 2013. She discusses the story on the May 12 podcast episode. Sigler recently appeared on Grey's Anatomy as a doctor with multiple sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with at 20.
