The Late Show’s final episode is scheduled for May 21. Colbert publicly revealed the program’s cancellation during the July 17, 2025 episode, and CBS described the move as a financial decision. In recent weeks Fallon serenaded Colbert with “My Way,” and Fallon joined Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver on Colbert’s show on May 11, teasing an “emergency” Strike Force Five podcast episode to support him.

What Fans Can Expect

The Tonight Show will return with a new episode the following night, featuring Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and musical guest Maluma. The Late Show airs weekdays at 11:35 p.m. ET.
