In 2020 the Lord Chamberlain reportedly received some 30,000 emails taken from a personal business contact that allege the former Prince Andrew shared protected information while serving as a U.K. trade envoy. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was later released after about 11 hours in custody; police say an inquiry is ongoing.
