Southgate’s long-standing role

Sir Gareth Southgate, 55, the former England manager (2016–2024) and a supporter of The King’s Trust for more than 15 years, will help create a nationwide network of mentors, coaches and courses to build confidence, skills and workplace experience.

Sport, family and royal support

Prince William, 43, who knighted Southgate at Windsor Castle on June 25, 2025, has long been a fan of English soccer and Aston Villa and has shared that passion with his children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. William also recently visited the England squad at St. George’s Park ahead of the 2026 World Cup to praise the “team behind the team.”
